The Prophet ﷺ taught a comprehensive travel supplication praising Allah, asking for ease, righteousness, and protection during a journey. It begins with the glorification of Allah and a reminder of our ultimate return to Him.
سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ وَإِنَّا إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا لَمُنقَلِبُونَ
Subhanalladhi sakh-khara lana hadha wa ma kunna lahu muqrinin. Wa inna ila Rabbina lamunqalibun.
Glory be to Him who subjected this to us, and we could not have controlled it ourselves; and surely to our Lord we will return.

Meaning and Explanation
This dua acknowledges that human technology and animals are only subservient to us by Allah's will. It aligns the physical journey with the spiritual journey back to the Creator.
When to Recite
When boarding a vehicle (car, plane, train) or beginning any significant journey.
How to Recite
Say 'Allahu Akbar' three times, then recite the Quranic travel verses followed by the complete prophetic travel supplication.
Important Notes
The Prophet ﷺ also recommended specific duas for returning from travel and for stopping at a place during a journey.
