Duas for Social Relations

Dua for Oppressed Muslims

Powerful Islamic supplications for those facing injustice and persecution.

The Prophet ﷺ taught us that the Ummah is like one body; if one limb suffers, the whole body responds with sleeplessness and fever. Making dua for our brothers and sisters facing oppression, war, and injustice is a duty of every Muslim who is in a position of safety.

Meaning and Explanation

This dua asks Allah to intervene and provide support, safety, and victory to those Muslims who are weak, persecuted, and lack the means to defend themselves against tyranny.

When to Recite

During the last third of the night (Tahajjud), during the Qunut in Salah, while fasting, and on Fridays.

How to Recite

Recite it with deep emotion and sincerity, imagining the plight of those in need, and have firm conviction (Yaqeen) that Allah is the Most Just.

Important Notes

The Prophet ﷺ used to make 'Qunut al-Nazila' (supplication during calamity) specifically to pray for the release and victory of oppressed Muslims.

Benefits

It fulfills the right of brotherhood, brings hope to the suffering, and is a means for the one praying to earn reward by caring for the Ummah.

Additional Duas

رَبَّنَا أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَانْصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ

Rabbana afrigh 'alayna sabran wa thabbit aqdamana wansurna 'alal-qawmil-kafirin

Our Lord, pour upon us patience and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people.
