Duas for Morning/Evening Protection

Surah An-Nas for Protection

Surah An-Nas teaches believers to seek Allah's protection from the whispering of Shaytan and harmful influences.

Surah An-Nas is the final chapter of the Quran. Together with Surah Al-Falaq, they are known as the 'Mu'awwidhatayn' (the two seekers of refuge). It is a powerful means of seeking protection from internal whispers and doubts.

Meaning and Explanation

The surah teaches reliance upon Allah as the Lord, King, and God of all people to protect against the secret whispers that cause doubt, fear, or sin, whether they come from unseen spirits or other humans.

When to Recite

Recite it after every obligatory prayer, in the morning and evening (3 times), and before going to sleep.

How to Recite

Recite the full surah with reflection. In the Sunnah, it is often recited along with Surah Al-Ikhlas and Surah Al-Falaq.

Important Notes

The protection comes from Allah. Reciting the surah is an act of faith and submission, not a mechanical spell.

Benefits

It strengthens the heart against obsessive thoughts (Waswasa), provides spiritual security, and reminds the believer that Allah alone is the ultimate protector of the soul.
