Dua for an Urgent Need

In urgent situations, believers are encouraged to call upon Allah with humility, patience, and absolute trust. The Prophet ﷺ taught us that certain Quranic words provide a direct means of seeking Allah's relief during severe distress.

Meaning and Explanation

This is the prayer of Prophet Yunus (AS) in the darkness. It expresses complete dependence upon Allah, glorifies His perfection, and admits human shortcoming.

When to Recite

Read it whenever facing urgent hardship, distress, or when a specific need arises suddenly.

How to Recite

Recite with humility, focusing on the meaning, and combine the dua with lawful practical steps to address your situation.

Important Notes

This is Quran 21:87. While these words are powerful, they should be recited with the understanding that Allah responds in the way He knows is best for us.

Benefits

It is a means of relief from distress. The Prophet ﷺ said that no Muslim makes this dua regarding any matter except that Allah answers him.
