Duas for the Hereafter

Dua for a House in Jannah

A beautiful Quranic supplication asking Allah for a home in Paradise near Him.

Believers are encouraged to ask Allah for Paradise and its highest levels. One of the most moving prayers for a home in Jannah comes from the Quran, uttered by Asiya (RA), the wife of Pharaoh, who chose a home near Allah over the palaces of this world.

Meaning and Explanation

This supplication, found in Surah At-Tahrim, expresses the desire for proximity to Allah and a secure home in the afterlife. It prioritizes the spiritual company of Allah ('near You') over the physical structure of the house.

When to Recite

During personal supplications, in Sujood, or after the obligatory prayers.

How to Recite

Recite with a heart longing for Allah's pleasure, accompanied by efforts to perform sunnah deeds that are promised a house in Jannah (such as building a mosque or praying 12 raka'at of Sunnah prayers).

Important Notes

This is Quran 66:11. It highlights that faith is independent of one's environment, as Asiya (RA) remained a firm believer while living with a tyrant.

Benefits

It serves as a reminder to prioritize the hereafter. Scholars note that whoever asks Allah for Paradise three times, Paradise itself says: 'O Allah, admit him into Paradise.'

Additional Duas

اللهم إني أسألك الجنة

Allahumma inni as'alukal-jannah

O Allah, I ask You for Paradise.
