Duas for Rain and Weather

Dua for a Good Harvest

Authentic prophetic supplication asking Allah for blessings in fruits and produce.

Agriculture and the growth of crops are signs of Allah's power and mercy. While we plant and water, it is Allah who causes the seeds to sprout and reach maturity. The Prophet ﷺ taught us to ask for 'Barakah' (divine blessing) in our produce so that it provides enough sustenance and benefit for the community.

Meaning and Explanation

This prayer asks Allah to put an increase and goodness into the physical harvest, the place where we live, and the economic tools we use to trade and measure that harvest.

When to Recite

During the planting season, when seeing the first signs of fruit, and especially during the time of harvest.

How to Recite

Recite it with a heart that recognizes human dependence on the Creator for every grain and fruit produced.

Important Notes

This is part of a longer Hadith in Sahih Muslim. The Sa' and Mudd were specific units of measurement used in Madinah, signifying a request for blessing in all quantities of food.

Benefits

It acknowledges Allah as the ultimate Provider (Ar-Razzaq), invites divine abundance into one's livelihood, and protects the harvest from being wasted or destroyed.

Additional Duas

رَبَّنَا أَنْزِلْ عَلَيْنَا بَرَكَاتٍ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ

Rabbana anzil 'alayna barakatin minas-sama'i wal-ard

Our Lord, send down upon us blessings from the heaven and the earth.
