بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ وَالسَّمَاءِ وَالطَّارِقِ ۝ ١ وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الطَّارِقُ ۝ ٢ النَّجْمُ الثَّاقِبُ ۝ ٣ إِنْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ لَمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌ ۝ ٤ فَلْيَنْظُرِ الْإِنْسَانُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ ۝ ٥ خُلِقَ مِنْ مَاءٍ دَافِقٍ ۝ ٦ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ بَيْنِ الصُّلْبِ وَالتَّرَائِبِ ۝ ٧ إِنَّهُ عَلَىٰ رَجْعِهِ لَقَادِرٌ ۝ ٨ يَوْمَ تُبْلَى السَّرَائِرُ ۝ ٩ فَمَا لَهُ مِنْ قُوَّةٍ وَلَا نَاصِرٍ ۝ ١٠ وَالسَّمَاءِ ذَاتِ الرَّجْعِ ۝ ١١ وَالْأَرْضِ ذَاتِ الصَّدْعِ ۝ ١٢ إِنَّهُ لَقَوْلٌ فَصْلٌ ۝ ١٣ وَمَا هُوَ بِالْهَزْلِ ۝ ١٤ إِنَّهُمْ يَكِيدُونَ كَيْدًا ۝ ١٥ وَأَكِيدُ كَيْدًا ۝ ١٦ فَمَهِّلِ الْكَافِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًا ۝ ١٧

Translation and Transliteration of Surah At Tariq

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ وَالسَّمَاءِ وَالطَّارِقِ ۝ ١

Waalssamai waalttariqi

By the sky and the night comer -

وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الطَّارِقُ ۝ ٢

Wama adraka ma alttariqu

And what can make you know what is the night comer?

النَّجْمُ الثَّاقِبُ ۝ ٣

Alnnajmu alththaqibu

It is the piercing star -

إِنْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ لَمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌ ۝ ٤

In kullu nafsin lamma AAalayha hafithun

There is no soul but that it has over it a protector.

فَلْيَنْظُرِ الْإِنْسَانُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ ۝ ٥

Falyanthuri alinsanu mimma khuliqa

So let man observe from what he was created.

خُلِقَ مِنْ مَاءٍ دَافِقٍ ۝ ٦

Khuliqa min main dafiqin

He was created from a fluid, ejected,

يَخْرُجُ مِنْ بَيْنِ الصُّلْبِ وَالتَّرَائِبِ ۝ ٧

Yakhruju min bayni alssulbi waalttaraibi

Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs.

إِنَّهُ عَلَىٰ رَجْعِهِ لَقَادِرٌ ۝ ٨

Innahu AAala rajAAihi laqadirun

Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able.

يَوْمَ تُبْلَى السَّرَائِرُ ۝ ٩

Yawma tubla alssarairu

The Day when secrets will be put on trial,

فَمَا لَهُ مِنْ قُوَّةٍ وَلَا نَاصِرٍ ۝ ١٠

Fama lahu min quwwatin wala nasirin

Then man will have no power or any helper.

وَالسَّمَاءِ ذَاتِ الرَّجْعِ ۝ ١١

Waalssamai thati alrrajAAi

By the sky which returns [rain]

وَالْأَرْضِ ذَاتِ الصَّدْعِ ۝ ١٢

Waalardi thati alssadAAi

And [by] the earth which cracks open,

إِنَّهُ لَقَوْلٌ فَصْلٌ ۝ ١٣

Innahu laqawlun faslun

Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement,

وَمَا هُوَ بِالْهَزْلِ ۝ ١٤

Wama huwa bialhazli

And it is not amusement.

إِنَّهُمْ يَكِيدُونَ كَيْدًا ۝ ١٥

Innahum yakeedoona kaydan

Indeed, they are planning a plan,

وَأَكِيدُ كَيْدًا ۝ ١٦

Waakeedu kaydan

But I am planning a plan.

فَمَهِّلِ الْكَافِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًا ۝ ١٧

Famahhili alkafireena amhilhum ruwaydan

So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile.

Surah At Tariq ( سورة الطارق ) is the 86th Surah of the Quran. It consists of 17 ayah and its categorized in Meccan .

The translation of the Qurʻan into modern languages has always been a difficult issue in Islamic theology. Because Muslims revere the Qurʻan as miraculous and inimitable (iʻjaz al-Qurʻan), they argue that the Qurʻanic text should not be isolated from its true form to another language or written form, at least not without keeping the Arabic text with it. Furthermore, an Arabic word, like a Hebrew or Aramaic word, may have a range of meanings depending on the context – a feature present in all Semitic languages, when compared to English, Latin, and Romance languages – making an accurate translation even more difficult

According to Islamic theology, the Qurʻan is a revelation very specifically in Arabic, and so it should only be recited in Quranic Arabic. Translations into other languages are necessarily the work of humans and so, according to Muslims, no longer possess the uniquely sacred character of the Arabic original. .

The task of translation of the Qurʻan is not an easy one; some native Arab speakers will confirm that some Qurʻanic passages are difficult to understand even in the original Arabic script. A part of this is the innate difficulty of any translation; in Arabic, as in other languages, a single word can have a variety of meanings. There is always an element of human judgement involved in understanding and translating a text. This factor is made more complex by the fact that the usage of words has changed a great deal between classical and modern Arabic. As a result, even Qurʻanic verses which seem perfectly clear to native Arab speakers accustomed to modern vocabulary and usage may not represent the original meaning of the verse.

The original meaning of a Qurʻanic passage will also be dependent on the historical circumstances of the prophet Muhammad's life and early community in which it originated. Investigating that context usually requires a detailed knowledge of hadith and sirah, which are themselves vast and complex texts. This introduces an additional element of uncertainty which cannot be eliminated by any linguistic rules of translation.
