بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ أَنْ أَنْذِرْ قَوْمَكَ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ يَأْتِيَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ ۝ ١

Inna arsalna noohan ila qawmihi an anthir qawmaka min qabli an yatiyahum AAathabun aleemun

Indeed, We sent Noah to his people, [saying], "Warn your people before there comes to them a painful punishment."

قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ إِنِّي لَكُمْ نَذِيرٌ مُبِينٌ ۝ ٢

Qala ya qawmi innee lakum natheerun mubeenun

He said, "O my people, indeed I am to you a clear warner,

أَنِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَاتَّقُوهُ وَأَطِيعُونِ ۝ ٣

Ani oAAbudoo Allaha waittaqoohu waateeAAooni

[Saying], 'Worship Allah, fear Him and obey me.

يَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ مِنْ ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُؤَخِّرْكُمْ إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ مُسَمًّى ۚ إِنَّ أَجَلَ اللَّهِ إِذَا جَاءَ لَا يُؤَخَّرُ ۖ لَوْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ ۝ ٤

Yaghfir lakum min thunoobikum wayuakhkhirkum ila ajalin musamman inna ajala Allahi itha jaa la yuakhkharu law kuntum taAAlamoona

Allah will forgive you of your sins and delay you for a specified term. Indeed, the time [set by] Allah, when it comes, will not be delayed, if you only knew.' "

Qala rabbi innee daAAawtu qawmee laylan wanaharan

He said, "My Lord, indeed I invited my people [to truth] night and day.

فَلَمْ يَزِدْهُمْ دُعَائِي إِلَّا فِرَارًا ۝ ٦

Falam yazidhum duAAaee illa firaran

But my invitation increased them not except in flight.

وَإِنِّي كُلَّمَا دَعَوْتُهُمْ لِتَغْفِرَ لَهُمْ جَعَلُوا أَصَابِعَهُمْ فِي آذَانِهِمْ وَاسْتَغْشَوْا ثِيَابَهُمْ وَأَصَرُّوا وَاسْتَكْبَرُوا اسْتِكْبَارًا ۝ ٧

ثُمَّ إِنِّي دَعَوْتُهُمْ جِهَارًا ۝ ٨

Thumma innee daAAawtuhum jiharan

Yursili alssamaa AAalaykum midraran

He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in [continuing] showers

Wayumdidkum biamwalin wabaneena wayajAAal lakum jannatin wayajAAal lakum anharan

مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَرْجُونَ لِلَّهِ وَقَارًا ۝ ١٣

Ma lakum la tarjoona lillahi waqaran

What is [the matter] with you that you do not attribute to Allah [due] grandeur

وَقَدْ خَلَقَكُمْ أَطْوَارًا ۝ ١٤

Waqad khalaqakum atwaran

While He has created you in stages?

WajaAAala alqamara feehinna nooran wajaAAala alshshamsa sirajan

WaAllahu anbatakum mina alardi nabatan

WaAllahu jaAAala lakumu alarda bisatan

And Allah has made for you the earth an expanse

That you may follow therein roads of passage.' "

قَالَ نُوحٌ رَبِّ إِنَّهُمْ عَصَوْنِي وَاتَّبَعُوا مَنْ لَمْ يَزِدْهُ مَالُهُ وَوَلَدُهُ إِلَّا خَسَارًا ۝ ٢١

Wamakaroo makran kubbaran

And they conspired an immense conspiracy.

وَقَالُوا لَا تَذَرُنَّ آلِهَتَكُمْ وَلَا تَذَرُنَّ وَدًّا وَلَا سُوَاعًا وَلَا يَغُوثَ وَيَعُوقَ وَنَسْرًا ۝ ٢٣

Waqaloo la tatharunna alihatakum wala tatharunna waddan wala suwaAAan wala yaghootha wayaAAooqa wanasran

وَقَدْ أَضَلُّوا كَثِيرًا ۖ وَلَا تَزِدِ الظَّالِمِينَ إِلَّا ضَلَالًا ۝ ٢٤

Waqad adalloo katheeran wala tazidi alththalimeena illa dalalan

And already they have misled many. And, [my Lord], do not increase the wrongdoers except in error."

مِمَّا خَطِيئَاتِهِمْ أُغْرِقُوا فَأُدْخِلُوا نَارًا فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا لَهُمْ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ أَنْصَارًا ۝ ٢٥

Surah Nuh. The 71st Surah of the Quran with 28 ayah.

Surah Nuh ( سورة نوح ) is the 71st Surah of the Quran. It consists of 28 ayah and its categorized in Meccan .

The translation of the Qurʻan into modern languages has always been a difficult issue in Islamic theology. Because Muslims revere the Qurʻan as miraculous and inimitable (iʻjaz al-Qurʻan), they argue that the Qurʻanic text should not be isolated from its true form to another language or written form, at least not without keeping the Arabic text with it. Furthermore, an Arabic word, like a Hebrew or Aramaic word, may have a range of meanings depending on the context – a feature present in all Semitic languages, when compared to English, Latin, and Romance languages – making an accurate translation even more difficult

According to Islamic theology, the Qurʻan is a revelation very specifically in Arabic, and so it should only be recited in Quranic Arabic. Translations into other languages are necessarily the work of humans and so, according to Muslims, no longer possess the uniquely sacred character of the Arabic original. .

The task of translation of the Qurʻan is not an easy one; some native Arab speakers will confirm that some Qurʻanic passages are difficult to understand even in the original Arabic script. A part of this is the innate difficulty of any translation; in Arabic, as in other languages, a single word can have a variety of meanings. There is always an element of human judgement involved in understanding and translating a text. This factor is made more complex by the fact that the usage of words has changed a great deal between classical and modern Arabic. As a result, even Qurʻanic verses which seem perfectly clear to native Arab speakers accustomed to modern vocabulary and usage may not represent the original meaning of the verse.

The original meaning of a Qurʻanic passage will also be dependent on the historical circumstances of the prophet Muhammad's life and early community in which it originated. Investigating that context usually requires a detailed knowledge of hadith and sirah, which are themselves vast and complex texts. This introduces an additional element of uncertainty which cannot be eliminated by any linguistic rules of translation.
