Duas from the Quran

Dua of Maryam and her Family

A powerful Quranic supplication for dedicating one's children and actions to the service of Allah.

The story of Maryam (AS) in the Quran is one of unparalleled devotion. While she is celebrated for her silence and trust in Allah, the supplication of her mother (the wife of 'Imran) remains a model for parents who wish to dedicate their children to a righteous path.

Meaning and Explanation

The dua expresses a sincere vow to raise a child for the sake of Allah and asks for divine acceptance of this noble intention.

When to Recite

During pregnancy, when making a sincere commitment to Allah, or when seeking acceptance for good deeds.

How to Recite

Recite with a heart focused on sincerity (Ikhlas), acknowledging that all success comes from Allah's acceptance.

Important Notes

Quran 3:35 attributes this to the mother of Maryam. It teaches us that a mother's sincere prayer can shape the destiny of a prophet's mother.

Benefits

Encourages parents to prioritize their children's spiritual growth and teaches the importance of asking Allah to accept our efforts.

Additional Duas

وَإِنِّي أُعِيذُهَا بِكَ وَذُرِّيَّتَهَا مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ

Wa inni u'idhuha bika wa dhurriyyataha minash-shaytanir-rajeem

And I seek refuge for her with You and [for] her descendants from Satan, the expelled [from Your mercy].
