Duas for Forgiveness

Dua for Repentance

A Quranic supplication expressing sincere repentance and asking Allah for forgiveness and mercy.

Repentance (Tawbah) is the act of turning back to Allah with remorse. The Quran records the dua of Adam (AS) and Hawwa (AS) as the ultimate example of seeking a fresh start after a mistake.

Meaning and Explanation

Repentance means returning sincerely to Allah, acknowledging the harm done to one's own soul, and seeking His divine intervention to avoid eternal loss.

When to Recite

After committing a sin, during the last third of the night, or whenever a person wants to renew their commitment to Allah.

How to Recite

Recite with a heavy heart, stop the sin immediately, regret it deeply, and resolve firmly never to return to it.

Important Notes

If a sin involved the rights of another person, you must seek their forgiveness or restore their rights as part of a complete repentance.

Benefits

Builds humility, removes the burden of guilt, and restores the believer's spiritual connection with Allah.

Additional Duas

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ رَبِّي مِنْ كُلِّ ذَنْبٍ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ
