Duas for the Hereafter

Dua for the Day of Judgment

Quranic duas for seeking forgiveness, mercy, and success on the Day of Judgment.

The Day of Judgment (Yawm al-Qiyamah) is the day of absolute truth and accountability. Believers are encouraged to frequently ask Allah for mercy and forgiveness, not just for themselves but also for their parents and the entire community of believers, to prepare for the final reckoning.

Meaning and Explanation

This prayer from Surah Ibrahim is a request for ultimate safety. It asks Allah to overlook our faults and show mercy to those closest to us on the day when our actions are weighed and the final records are presented.

When to Recite

During daily prayers (especially in the final Tashahhud), after Salah, and during the quiet moments of the night.

How to Recite

Recite it with a heart full of humility and awe (Khashyah), truly reflecting on the gravity of standing before Allah for accountability.

Important Notes

This is Quran 14:41. While this is a primary prayer for that Day, any sincere supplication for 'Maghfirah' (forgiveness) is beneficial for the Day of Judgment.

Benefits

It fulfills the duty of being good to parents, strengthens the bond of the Muslim Ummah, and keeps the believer focused on the eternal reality of the afterlife.

Additional Duas

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil-akhirati hasanatan wa qina 'adhaban-nar

Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.
