Duas for the Hereafter

Dua for Standing Before Allah

Supplications that remind believers of accountability and the Day they will stand before Allah.

Every soul will eventually return to its Creator to account for its deeds. Standing before Allah (Al-Waqf bayna yaday Allah) is the most critical moment of human existence. The Quran teaches us to prepare for this meeting by seeking forgiveness for our excesses and asking for firmness on the path of truth.

Meaning and Explanation

This dua acknowledges human weakness and mistakes ('excesses'). It asks Allah to overlook our sins and provide us with the spiritual and physical stability needed to face trials and, ultimately, the final judgment.

When to Recite

Read it during personal supplications, after Salah, and when reflecting on the reality of the Day of Judgment.

How to Recite

Recite it with a heart full of awe (khashyah) and sincere repentance. Visualize the gravity of standing before the King of Kings.

Important Notes

This is Quran 3:147. While it was historically recited by the righteous in battle, it is a universal prayer for forgiveness and success in the presence of Allah.

Benefits

It instills a sense of accountability, humbles the soul, and refocuses the heart on the Hereafter. It is a plea for mercy at a time when only mercy will suffice.

Additional Duas

رَبَّنَا لَا تُؤَاخِذْنَا إِن نَّسِينَا أَوْ أَخْطَأْنَا

Rabbana la tu'akhidhna in-nasina aw akhta'na

Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred.
