The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught a specific supplication to seek refuge from sudden calamities and painful forms of death or injury.
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-hadmi, wa a'udhu bika minat-tarad-di, wa a'udhu bika minal-gharaqi wal-haraqi wal-haram.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from being crushed (by a falling building), from falling (from a high place), from drowning, from burning and from extreme old age.
