Duas for the Hereafter

Dua for Jannah

Authentic supplications for asking Allah for Paradise and success in the Hereafter.

Paradise (Jannah) is the ultimate goal of every believer. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ encouraged us not only to ask for Jannah but to specifically ask for 'Al-Firdaws al-A'la'—the highest level. This Quranic dua is considered the most comprehensive, as it asks for success in both lives and protection from the Fire.

Meaning and Explanation

This dua seeks 'Hasanah' (goodness) which includes everything beneficial: health, provision, and faith in this life, and forgiveness and Jannah in the next.

When to Recite

During Salah (between the two prostrations or after Tashahhud), after daily prayers, and while performing Tawaf.

How to Recite

Recite it with a sincere heart, full of hope for Allah's mercy and a fear of His punishment.

Important Notes

This is Quran 2:201. The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Whoever asks Allah for Paradise three times, Paradise says: O Allah, admit him into Paradise.'

Benefits

It is the most frequently recited dua of the Prophet ﷺ. It balances our worldly needs with our eternal goals, reminding us that true success is entering Paradise.

Additional Duas

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْجَنَّةَ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ

Allahumma inni as’alukal-Jannah wa a’udhu bika minan-Nar

O Allah, I ask You for Paradise and I seek refuge in You from the Fire.
