Duas for the Deceased

Dua for Deceased Husband

A Quranic supplication asking Allah to forgive deceased believers and grant them mercy.

The bond of marriage is one of the strongest human connections. Even after death, a wife can show her love and loyalty to her husband by making sincere dua for him. Her prayers can be a source of comfort and light for him in the afterlife.

Meaning and Explanation

This dua asks Allah to grant forgiveness to ourselves and to all fellow believers who have passed away before us, including one's husband.

When to Recite

Read it during daily prayers, in the late night (Tahajjud), or whenever you remember him.

How to Recite

Recite it with a sincere heart, asking Allah specifically to accept it for your husband and grant him the highest rank in Paradise.

Important Notes

This is Quran 59:10. While there isn't a single 'fixed' dua for a husband, any sincere supplication for his forgiveness (Maghfirah) and mercy (Rahmah) is highly beneficial.

Benefits

It honors the husband's memory and fulfills the right of a deceased Muslim brother and spouse. It is a means of increasing his status in the Hereafter.

Additional Duas

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ وَأَسْكِنْهُ الْفِرْدَوْسَ

Allahummaghfir lahu warhamhu wa askinhul-firdaws

O Allah, forgive him, have mercy on him, and grant him residence in Firdaws (highest Paradise).
