Here, we'll discuss on the etiquette of using the toilet and how to purify yourself afterward, following the Islamic perspective and the prophetic tradition. Before we begin, it's essential to understand that purifying ourselves from impurity is a condition for valid prayers, and negligence in cleaning may lead to punishment in the grave, as stated by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
Things to follow while using the Toilet:
Say Bismillah: Begin with "In the name of Allah." This phrase blocks the Jinn from seeing private parts.
Enter with the Left Foot: Enter the toilet using your left foot.
Say a Supplication: "Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal khubuthi wal khaba'ith" (Oh Allah, I seek refuge in You from all offensive and wicked things).
Avoid Unnecessary Speech: Refrain from unnecessary speech or phone use while using the toilet.
Avoid Standing for Urination: Whenever possible, sit down for urination, as per the Prophet's practice.
Avoid Facing the Qibla: Do not face or turn your back to the Qibla.
Be Careful with Droplets: Ensure that drops of urine do not land on your clothes or body.
Use Left Hand for Washing: Use the left hand when washing the private parts.
Clean Yourself Properly: Use toilet paper or water to clean yourself properly after relieving.
Exit with the Right Foot: Exit the toilet with your right foot.
Say a Supplication: "Ghufranak" (I seek Your forgiveness) or add "Alhamdulillah" (Praise is to Allah).
Wash Hands with Soap: To maintain cleanliness, wash your hands with soap.
Remember, the correctness of prayers depends on physical purification. Strive to purify yourself as Allah loves those who maintain cleanliness and purity. May Allah make us among those who strive for purification to gain His love.
